"We all learned a little something and somehow..." - I remember a phrase from "Eugene Onegin".

Today, on January 25, Russia celebrates Student's Day or Tatiana's Day.
Do you know where this holiday came from?
Let's turn to history.

Saint Tatiana has long been called the patroness of Russian students.

Today, on the day of the martyr's memory, in 1755, Empress Elizabeth Petrovna signed the Decree on the Establishment of Moscow University.

And, according to the popular version, the first curator of the university, Ivan Shuvalov, provided Elizabeth with a decree to sign on the day of the name day of his mother, Tatyana Rostislavskaya.
The Empress did not object, and the day of the establishment of the first Russian university turned out to be associated with St. Tatiana's memorial day.

Thus, on Tatiana's Day, the birthday of Moscow University began to be celebrated, and after that, the day of all students in general.
Happy
holidays!
Miracles, warmth and tenderness!
May the patron saint guard and point out the right path ♥️
